Our Mission

Our mission at Reggio Academy is to provide children with the tools they need to develop a lifelong love of learning and education in a nurturing and safe place. These tools include interesting environments to explore, exceptional learning materials, appropriate social emotional guidance and support and opportunities to interact with the community. We believe that when children are appropriately supported in their early years, they grow to be compassionate, well rounded, intelligent adults and citizens.

Infant Program

Full Time & Part Time Schedules

In our infant classroom our children and families are supported by staff in developing bonds of love and trust. This foundation is important for both children and parents as it ensures that children feel safe and at home in the world as they grow. We also focus on stimulating cognitive skills including the learning process of memory, language, thinking, and reasoning. Children are encouraged in their large and small motor development as they learn to crawl, walk and feed themselves simple finger foods.

Toddler Program

Full Time & Part Time Schedules

During the second year, our toddler class is encouraged to be more mobile and aware of themselves and their surroundings and to explore new materials. At this stage, toddlers will show greater independence, begin to show defiant behavior, recognize themselves in pictures or a mirror, and imitate the behaviors of others. Our focus includes helping our toddlers to recognize the names of familiar people and objects, form simple phrases, and follow simple directions.

Twos Program

Full Time & Part Time Schedules

At the age of two, children experience increased thinking, learning, social, and emotional changes that will help them to explore their world and make sense of it. During this stage we encourage our twos class to follow two or three-step directions, sort objects by shape and color, and to express their wide range of emotions. Skills such as taking turns, playing make believe, and kicking a ball are encouraged and practiced daily.

Preschool Program

Full Time Schedule (5 Days)

During the preschool years, children will continue to become more independent and will seek to make friends outside of the family unit. They become increasingly curious to explore and begin to ask many questions about their environment and the world. At this stage, children should be able to ride a tricycle, use safety scissors, notice the difference between girls and boys, help to dress themselves, and learn to play cooperatively with other children. Our teachers will facilitate a wide variety of learning experiences and projects to meet our preschoolers’ intellectual needs.

Pre-K Program

Full Time Schedule (5 Days)

Our prekindergarten class continues to focus on the project work and emerging curriculum foundation we built in preschool, while adding more kindergarten readiness components so that children are well prepared for elementary school. Activities include learning a second language and phonics. We also put special effort into teaching nutrition and exercise, care for nature and the planet, respect for animals and all living things, and yoga and mindfulness so that children begin to become more aware of balancing learning and cognitive development with physical and social emotional development.

School Age Program

Before/After School Care & Summer Camp

During the school age years, children are enrolled in school full time focusing primarily on academics. While children are in our before and after school program or our Summer Program, our goal is to provide them with homework help, recreational activities, and opportunities to create activities that interest them and build on their foundational knowledge. We focus on encouraging peer relationships and collaborations as well as healthy, holistic development including mindfulness, yoga, peaceful problem solving, and community service.

Curriculum & Learning

Everyday is an adventure in learning and discovering the world that we live in. Our students engage in hands-on activities and projects that interest them, conducting research and investigations to gain insight. Our teachers are facilitators and co-learners in the process. We use the Creative Curriculum in tandem with Reggio Emilia inspiration to help foster the creativity, education and overall growth of our students. Daily updates, such as projects, meals, bathroom habits, photos, and videos are posted on the Brightwheel app.
